| Written by Administrator | There is a lot here in this, the AwareIntel portal for CRAIDO. However, this is 2009, not even 2001, and certainly not like things had been in the good old days of honesty and professionalism. Besides worrying about factions and groups like al Qaeda (about whom anyone should still be concerned - they and theirs have not disappeared) there are new "factions". Some of these may not do overt, explicit damage to the USA, to our society, and to our social well-being including our health, but they do, in our opinion, cause damage nonetheless by their greed, their avarice, their unscrupulousness, and their cheating. Some of these are ... companies and contractors, in fact some with well-established names, some even making millions in profit as DHS and DHHS contractors while producing dubious results. So, at the moment, USER REGISTRATION is required, and, alas, this must be done by direct request to TETRADYN. If you are an honest person, you should feel no offense, and this takes only one email to get you registered, and if appropriate, then a little longer to sign an NDA. If you are like some at a few companies and agencies, where you are putting yourself and your material, financial gain ahead of the safety and well-being of your country, then, simply, I pity your soul.

AwareIntel is an adaptation of NomadEyes for public health and public safety, providing a realtime-updated suite of information for both the general public and for specialists working in healthcare, epidemiology, general medicine, emergency response and public safety. Most services require user login. At the present moment (Sept., 2009) registration is handled by making an initial requet to TETRADYN, the portal developer and administrator. Note that the portal is undergoing thorough remodeling and reconstruction. More information can be obtained by visiting the TETRADYN main site.

Slowly but surely everything is getting well underway. One "deep" aspect of the CUBIT architecture and suite is, of course, the integration of multi-spectral sensing and diagnostics, and that dominates CRAIDO and the analytical and informational activities. Another and often forgotten aspect of successful public health and the mitigation of problems such as infectious disease outbreaks, epidemics and pandemics is the effective use of communication including dialog among people, not only specialists and healthcare providers. The AwareIntel portal (here) is one form of medium that addresses this, and it is definitely intended to be more on the technical side. The CUBIT-CRAIDO Portal (http://cubit.tetradyn.com/portal) is designed more for the general audience and it includes Alerts, News & Reports, and the BeAlive! wellness and health-invest interactive web media. Take a moment, or several, to visit and explore both of these portals and to learn what they will be offering by examining the structures as they evolve. We are only at the beginning stage of implementation and the content development phase is a very long-term activity; in fact, one that does not end. How are both of these portals different from so many others? This will become increasingly apparent after features, code and content are brought to the surface and made public. This is a new generation within interactive web learning, notification, awareness, intelligence. No "WebMD" or "Dr. Weil" or "Dr. Phil" here, but rather, the management and synthesis of knowledge from a large and open-ended body of experts and ordinary, regular, everyday People. |
